Director of Facilities

The Grammar School (, an independent school serving preschool through eighth grade, located in the town of Putney, in Southern Vermont, is seeking a Director of Facilities beginning July 2017. Founded in 1960, the school is located on 60 acres of fields and woodlands and emphasizes the education of the whole child, focusing on core academics, arts, and outdoor education. The Director of Facilities reports to the Head of School and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the operation and maintenance of the school’s physical plant.

 Essential Functions:

  • Daily maintenance of facilities
  • Manage projects associated with campus improvements
  • Spearhead campus safety measures
  • Oversee school transportation program
  • Collaborate with staff, parents, students in support of the school’s program
  • Work with students on hands-on projects as appropriate
  • Strategic thinking as appropriate to the strategic and master planning process
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head of School
