Hop's page
Paul Hopkins "Hop" has been teaching at TGS since 2006.
Seventh graders look forward to increased responsibility and independence as they enter the Upper School. They serve as role models for the younger students and contribute positively to the everyday operation of the school. Students focus on working together for themselves as individuals and for the intellectual and social growth of the class. Emphasis is placed on promoting a positive, supportive atmosphere in all situations, whether academic, social, or physical.

Fall exploration of the New England landscape both on campus, in forest plots chosen by the students, and during a field trip to the White Mountains integrates science, geography and math.

Seventh graders host an Oxfam Hunger Banquet for older TGS students as well as neighboring school students to raise awareness about inequities of food and wealth distribution in the world.

The spring trip to Quebec City, Canada concludes a year long study of the culture and language of our northern neighbor and gives the students a chance to practice their French.

Every seventh and eighth grader participates in the Spring Musical. This builds spirit and confidence in each student and is a wonderful performing arts event for the whole school and greater community
